We have stepped into the world of online business because of the internet’s rising popularity and so many flourishing e-commerce websites. And due to this competitive era it becomes all the more essential to focus on search engine optimization and get the highest rank in the search engines. But the main question arises, how it is possible and what steps one can take to generate and increase the desired traffic to the website. A simple answer to this excellent and right question is to apply and exercise two major tools – SEO or Search Engine Optimization and SEM or Search Engine Marketing.

SEO or Search Engine Optimization is a fantastic way to optimize your website with certain techniques in order to place it among the few top websites and when the visitor search their query on the internet or search engine like Google they can capture your website immediately.

SEO-and-SEM-toolsOn the contrary SEM or Search Engine Marketing is broader in scope or marketing scheme and covers SEO procedures too. And once both the processes are enforced efficiently, your website will surely get a right promotion in the market. Implementing marketing strategies involves various objectives and theories related to market that actually assists in driving the traffic to your website. Not only visitors get the chance to locate your site easily but quality traffic is also attracted towards your website.

Each online business owner’s main aim is to rank higher in the search engine ranking pages. To rank high on search engines simply means that the features engraved in your website are up to the mark and so your website stands among the top sites of the search engine. Whenever an internet user makes a query on search engine there are search engine robots that look for relevant keywords and respond to the entered query. So whenever a search is made these robots immediately start exploring the relevant sites that are built on the specific keywords typed in the query. And that’s the reason why one needs to implement various search engine marketing strategies in order to generate traffic and rank on top in the SERP. SEO and SEM are the main components of the marketing strategies and once you apply them while creating your website, without a doubt your business will touch the success with distinctive qualities.

The internet universe is crafted with indefinite number of great and fantastic websites and each one is trying to get that highest place in the online marketing world. But still the hard fact remains that not all websites are capable enough to generate traffic plus visitors. And nobody can deny the fact that the real success will only be with the people who truly work on their SEO and SEM strategies. These strategies help in flourishing the online business and can even let the owners achieve new heights of image building. SERP brings only the best marketed websites on top and even assists in determining the effectiveness of these strategies. The top ten websites on any of the Search Engine Ranking Pages or SERP are said to be the best and very informative sites and the users prefer them the most to resolve their queries. As a result the visitors are less keen to visit and browse the web pages sorted with low ranks.

Search Engine Marketing is the finest and most beneficial way to get in the eyes of internet users. The users rely a lot on these sites and the trust is automatically inlayed when your website ranks high on SERP. If you wish to implement these marketing strategies, nothing can come in the way of your success with quality traffic and great customers.

Money-Making Methods That Don’t (and Will Never) Work

    Thursday, December 30th, 2010

This Guest Post by Brian is a Part of Guest Blogging Contest, for complete details please check Guest Blogging Contest page

How many times you’ve heard people promising you “ways to make millions with little effort, working from home in your pajamas?” Claims like these are all over the place. The truth is, well…different. Here are some methods of making money that will either a) make you very little money or b) make you no money at all.

    1. Blogging For The Sake of Blogging

Stay-at-home moms fall for this often. The basic promise is: You can write on whatever you want and make money! Yes, if you stumble on some profitable niche you will make money! If you write about finance, you’re probably going to make some case. However, if you write about your life and your thoughts, then don’t expect much money. People usually want to read auto-biographies, but only by celebrities.

Don’t get me wrong; blogging works and makes serious money for some people. They question I would ask is, however, what percentage? You’ve probably heard about the statistic that only 10% of products succeed. In reality, having your own product gives you most control and the smallest chances to fail. Yet, according to this statistic, your chances are 10%! Now, imagine what the percentage would be for blogging. Maybe 2%? Less than 1%?

Solution: First, define on WHAT you are going to write about and research whether there are buyers in that market. Eventually, you’ll want to promote some products there. Want to write about dog training? This may be a good choice because there are a lot of products on that market out there.

You also might want to eventually sell your own info-product after a while…for example, I’ve been writing for a while, publishing posts like this one on people search engines and soon plan to also write an e-book on this topic and sell it.

Anyway, don’t expect to make money if you blog for the sake of blogging. Pleasure and freedom? Yes. But money, not really.

    2. PTC (Paid to Click) Programs

Bux.to, NeoBux, you name it…there are a lot of programs out there promising to help you make money by just clicking on ads! Now, the truth is, yes, you CAN make money via those programs. The twist is, the best people there make max. $200 a month. That’s WITH A LOT OF WORK. Most people don’t make more than $10 per month.

The ironic thing here is, those people (doing PTC) probably spend the same time clicking on ads that someone would spend on creating his own product or doing affiliate marketing…and make 10x more.

Think about it…the web is huge. If PTC programs worked really well then wouldn’t everyone do it? It’s supply demand 101, the easier something is to start with, the less money you’ll generally make. Read this section of Barriers to entry by Michael Porter. High barriers to entry = more profit, low barriers to entry = less profit. Now, I’m not saying you should go to markets with a REALLY high barrier to entry, you can go into lower ones, work continuously and make stable profit.

I’m just saying to avoid programs which are too good to be true. This is one of them.

    3. PTS (Paid to Surf), PTV (Paid to View) and Other “Paid to X” Programs

How many times you’ve heard marketing messages like: Just install this toolbar and surf…you’ll make money while you’re browsing! Again, too good to be true. Or…watch your favorite movies and get paid! Again, too good to be true.

People will always have this ‘get rich quick’ fantasy. That’s why lotteries exist. That’s why casinos and betting schemes prosper. And that’s why these ‘paid to X’ programs will never cease to exist. But you don’t have to be a part of them.

    4. Nothing Works!

This kind of mindset also guarantees you’ll never make money If you have already tried and been disappointed over and over again by those get rich quick schemes, then you’ll probably go to the other extreme and say: Well I have to be innovative (like Google, Amazon and so on) and need a big investment to make money online, I can never make money as the ‘little guy’ online. This is FAR from the truth.

This blog, for example, offers a lot of reliable methods for making money. Here are some:

    - Starting to write on a niche that makes money and putting AdSense on your site.

    - Doing affiliate marketing

    - Creating your own info product (e-book, online course)

    - Paid traffic brokering via affiliate marketing (you take an affiliate product and promote it by buying traffic)

    - Freelancing

    - Offering consulting services for something you’re good at

Now, those things are not guaranteed to make you $$$$$ but they’re far better from the above methods.

Let me know your thoughts in the comments below.

Rank Your Website Higher in the Whole New Google Search

        Saturday, December 25th, 2010

Google at present times is really different and evolving. With the whole restructuring of its Search Engine Result Page (SERPs) interface, you can say that the whole new Google is no longer just one search engine but rather a perfect blend of five to seven search engines working together to give us the best user experience.

When you search, you can see at the left side column the new functions, which open up new prospects for webmasters and SEO Specialists to have some manipulations on all that vital features.

As an Internet Marketer, the whole new thing isn’t a surprise as Google work on for more innovation in search but with these changes, I can say it’s a package to work on ranking my website in Google. This is just good for my daily activities as I keep on monitoring my niche which yield revenue but now with these recent changes seem to be a “convergence” of all the diverse types of searches in Google which have been around for some time.

So now it seems to be placing more importance on these new ways to search.

        Youtube Search

Maybe you have noticed when you search on Google, some results in the first page are videos from Youtube. It is because videos have taken a great step forward in Google as Youtube also owned by Google and they no doubt can easily bang into all the contextual stats on a video such as comments, and viewer ratings.

This trend makes video to be one of the firmest ways to get on the first page of Google, even for very competitive keywords.

        Blog Search

Google is also giving more importance on popular posts, diggs, shares, and tweets in the SERPs. The best Google program for this is by using Blogger to be an effective way of ranking high in Google Blog search. In Blogger, if your blog posts will be indexed right away within minutes and this recently seems to be faster than ever in moving more towards organic search results.

Twitter Tweets, Facebook Shares, Diggs, all of these social bookmarking systems and social networking sites provide the search engines, particularly Google, with some very useful user-generated rankings and ratings called Social Signals.

        Google News Search

Having a news release would be helpful in news search for you to get the top spot in Google as it has always listed News Items on the first page but this now appears to play a more imperative role. Surely, web surfers will perhaps stay on that first page longer and you have a better gamble of getting your news item being read.

Remember that news picks up and shows a lot of these items instantly so within seconds you can have traffic going to your site.

        Image Search

Image search is always been a vital piece of Google Search. This is the one where you can have take benefit of by creating images that counterpart your products or keywords used for you post. Image search now is dynamic the reason why images can be an easy way to get traffic from Google.

        Shopping Search

This is probably the most essential listing as you’re sure to entice specific buyers who are thinking and have planned to purchase. The best way to get into this is to get your product listed in Google product search.

While all these search opportunities can be fairly confusing to grip even for the Internet marketer, all these opportunities do present us diverse ways to get on that first page in Google search. So while the number one spot in organic search will always be your main goal, ranking for the top spot in any of those search engines are all valuable for your SEO efforts.

Just ensure that Google, have no trouble finding your product or your content.

Mixing business blogs with pleasure- Fun goes a long way

          Thursday, December 23rd, 2010

This Guest Post by Sachin Bansal is a Part of Guest Blogging Contest, for complete details please check Guest Blogging Contest page

If you’re a blogger, you’ll probably have pretty strong feelings about your blog. You know what you want- It’s getting it right that’s the hard bit. If you’re writing a blog about a subject like computer repairs, you may think that your chances for writing anything fun are pretty limited. Wrong. You can spice up and make any subject fun and interesting, for you as well as your readers.

Blogs can be as much fun as you want

Some subjects are pretty dry. It’s hard to turn the deep technical stuff into fun, particularly if you don’t try. The fact is that fun is a better information source. It motivates readers and it also adds some insights.

Case in point- There’s a whole vein of humor and definite fun in IT subjects, some of which can be downright grim if you do them without humanizing them.

This is a tale of woe from IT-Land:

“We had a code problem. The accounts database kept crashing, and we kept getting told to debug an ancient code which none of us had ever seen until we started working there. This code would break down if someone turned on a light. At one stage it was taking in data and deleting it simultaneously. We had some poor guy literally writing down the accounts data all day with pen and paper so he could enter it when we got the system running again.

We didn’t know what to do. The manager kept telling us to fix it, whatever it was, and didn’t contribute anything else. The actual database itself was practically prehistoric. It could actually crash before it started running. It wouldn’t run after we’d done every line three times. About 3 in the morning, we went over to get a cup of coffee and some food. In the shop was an arcade game, one of those shooter things. We played that for a while, and I swear we both had the same idea at the same time.

We went back and dug through the staff room, and found a game like the game in the shop. We dug out the database code, copied it, and ran it on the accounts database. We never had a problem, after that.”

If you’re writing for people that do  computer support for a living, you’ll find that weird tales and impure thoughts in the IT department aren’t all that uncommon. Code writers get driven up the wall on an hourly basis by things like this. If you’re writing to pro code writers, they’ll get it, in context, and enjoy it. Interest levels dictate learning and communication levels.

          Interesting blogs get read

In advertising, the headers are the “grabbers”, and they’re designed to get attention and interest.

          Compare these headers:

Collecting Fords               Releasing A Ford Mustang Back Into The Wild

Hairstyle Tips                  Hairstyles for Mad Women

          WordPress Themes           WordPress Breakout

There’s no trickery. The interest is practically removed by the titles on the left, and unavoidably created in the ones on the right. If Shakespeare wrote a blog with the titles on the left, he’d be lucky to get readers.

All writers write better when they’re having fun. Open up, and have a ball!

            Smart Copywriting For Your Website

            Wednesday, December 22nd, 2010

This Guest Post by William Eve is a Part of Guest Blogging Contest, for complete details please check Guest Blogging Contest page

Website copy is extremely important, so it makes sense that the copywriting you do for your site should be considered carefully. There are certain things you need to do and make sure of as you write in order to know that your site’s content will not only please your visitors, but the search engines as well.

Keywords – Too Important to Overlook

It is very easy to forgo any sort of keyword research, but this is a great way to shoot yourself in the foot. Your keywords are what are going to bring visitors to your site. So without them you may as well not even have a site.

Never assume that you know what keywords that your potential customers are going to be looking for. Think up some words and phrases that you think are relevant, and then run them through a keyword search tool. This will give you a wide range of words, and should also tell you just how accurate your predictions were.

During your search you may come across some words that have a high search rating, yet you didn’t think of them. For example, just by switching a couple words around you might be able to get a lot more traffic each day. Also, leaving common misspellings out of your site’s description can keep people from finding you. Just imagine all the traffic you could lose this way.

There are free tools that you can use to find good keywords, so there is really no excuse for not performing this crucial step. Take a few minutes and find out how people are really searching for what you offer.

            Placing Your Keywords Properly

Where you use your keywords is almost as important as which keywords you choose. Different people have different opinions on where to put keywords, but it is generally accepted that using them in headlines or sub-headers is a good idea. Also, putting them in the first and last paragraphs will help the search engines find your keywords and key phrases readily.

            Keyword Density and Word-count

Keyword density is something else that people don’t always agree on. Some say that you should only use a couple keywords per page, others say you should stuff as many keywords as possible into your site.

It can be confidently said that keyword stuffing has been shown to be a very poor idea, and keyword experts warn against it. Search engines are now being programmed to pick up if a site has too many keywords, and if visitors were to see your site it would seem “spammy.” So moderation is important.

Generally, somewhere between 1% and 3% is what is recommended. This gives the search engines plenty to pick up on, but makes it easy for people to read your content smoothly.

This brings up the subject of word count. 250 words is normally the minimum that a page should have. This gives you room to actually make some good points as well as getting your keywords in a few times without cluttering the text. 250 words really isn’t very much, so this is easy to attain, even for those who don’t enjoy writing.

            Know You Have Good Copy

When you are running a website, your content should not be underestimated. It is your lifeline to your customers, and treating it as anything less can spell failure for your site. Make sure that your copy has good grammar and spelling, and that it flows nicely. Finally, keep an eye on your keywords and their density. This will make your site enjoyable to visit, search engine friendly, and more likely to make you money.

10 Tips to Optimize You Blog Posts for Higher Search Engine Rankings

              Monday, December 20th, 2010

You should not care much about optimization and all if you are working on your personal blog and have no intention of getting search engine traffic or business off it. But what you will do if you are working on your blog with the intention of getting lots of search engine traffic and thus more business for you. If you are facing the similar kind of situation, I’m going to share my thoughts on how you can go about optimizing your blog posts to get maximum exposure, rankings and traffic from search engines.
Optimize blog post for better search engine rankings

              1. Do Keyword Research

You should do some keyword research around the topic you will be writing your next blog post. I himself use Google Adwords Keyword Tool to see the kind of terms people use to get information around a particular topic. You should have the set of keywords with you when you start drafting your next post. And once you have that, create high quality content around these keywords and try to be personal with your writing and don’t try to use too many keywords or too often in your blog post.

              2. Do proofreading

Once you are finished off writing your blog post, its time to proofread it for spelling, grammatical, punctuation and other errors you would have missed while drafting it.

              3. Main keyword in your post title

Now it’s time to start publishing your post on to your blog. You should aim at including your main keyword in your blog post title and if it makes sense, use it towards the beginning of your title.

              4. SEO Optimized URL

Create a SEO optimized URL for your blog post where you will be including your main keywords and can ignore the stop words from your post URL. I would suggest using dashes (-) between words and avoid using underscores (_).

              5. Add Image/Videos to your Post

Include images and videos in your post to make it more interesting, more informative and more search engine friendly. When you are including images in your blog posts, keep them of small sizes and don’t forget to include ALT text for all images. And don’t forget to include a credit note against images mentioning the original image source.

              6. Link out to other websites

If you know of some other blog posts or articles related to the topic you are writing about, why don’t include them in your post. Inclusion of related stories from other websites and blogs will give additional information to your blog reader about the topic they are reading on your blog. When you link out to other websites and blogs, there is every chance they will link back to you sometime.

              7. Content formatting

You should make sure that your post is well formatted. I would suggest using headings, sub-headings, bold, strong, italics, list items etc to make your content more informative and engaging.

              8. Have Social Media Link/Icons in posts

Add links and icons pointing to all major social networks like Facebook, Twitter, Digg, Delicious, StumbleUpon and Yahoo Buzz etc in your blog posts. Presence of these links will motivate you and even your blog readers to share their favorite content on social networks where they are active.

              9. Use Related Posts

I would highly recommend the presence of related posts at the end of each blog posts whatever blogging platform you are using. Related post section will serve lots of purpose like automatic content inter-linking, traffic generation for old posts, increased user engagement and thus will help towards improving your blog bounce rate.

              10. Reply to comments

You should keep track of comments coming on your blog posts and reply back to all comments requiring some advice, tips or other information from your end.

Do you have something more to this list that one should take care of while optimizing its blog post from search engine prospective, please share in the comments section below.

You receive your revenue share generated from all these revenue channels on your website, and these channels are reported in the SmsCoin control panel.

                Universal PSMS Services

SmsCoin Premium SMS services support various web developers and offer prepaid entry to the content of your website. This service works if the user sends a short code displayed in your website in order to access your content. Also, it is flexible enough, and lets you determine for how long and for how many times user can access with this password before it expires. In this service you can sell content, provide paid registration and paid files, therefore you will surely earn money.

                Collecting Donations

SmsCoin will help you collect donations on behalf of your website development. Users will really donate, if they feel your website is helpful to them. You have to install and set up a small button on your website where users click to donate. This is really interesting concept that looks to be working to some degree for those trying it.

                Sell Mobile Content

SMS Content service will allow website owners make money by letting the users send link for downloading multimedia graphics such as images, music or video files openly to their mobile phones. This is really the coolest tool that expands the functionality of your website, and at the same time brings you an extra profit.

                SMS Bank

sms:bank solution is designed for those clients who organize on-line games and other services, based on in-site currency system. User sends sms, thus replenishing his account in an on-line game. For example, you have an on-line game where users can acquire some goods in order to make progress in game. User sends sms, replenishes his balance and gets a certain sum of in-game currency (points, stars, “guldens”, etc.) he can purchase goods with. Another example is that a website owner offers his clients accounts system with opportunity to update accounts in order to download more files, or to get certain services of this website. So, by replenishing account balance with virtual money, user can get various services on a certain website.

What a pleasure it is to wake up in the morning and find out that everything in the house is in order. Nothing is broken, nothing is shredded, nothing is tattered. You open your mailbox and ahhh…the bills have arrived. What a nice surprise! The water and electric bills have not become a great deal higher since you became a work-at-home mother. Your three-year old has not puked all over herself, and your five-year old is not tormenting his little sister. Everything is in order.

The Benefits of Leaving Your Job

When faced with the urge to leave the tedious job atmosphere behind and start working at home, many women become understandably elated. They are no longer under stress for being away from their house and children. And they are sure that their children are happy that they are at home keeping them company, especially if the children are young. If the kids are very young, of course, being at home is even mandatory.

When you travel to and from work, your car suffers wear-and-tear. You are faced with gas bills that can be overwhelming at times. There are problems with the oil and tires. Now that you are at home, the wear-and-tear shifts there.

What Is Missing in the Picture?

The day you find you are earning as much working from home as you used to at the office will be a perfect one indeed. Usually, you end up making less than half of what you used to. Your bills rise because you are at home the whole time and are using more water and electricity. You should keep that in mind.

As a work-at-home mom, you will find out that your neighbors’ antics, which you used to despise, have become a source of pleasure. If they are fighting the whole time and that used to bother you to the extent that you considered calling the police, that is something you would never consider doing now. You would probably glue your ear to the wall and listen hard just because you are bored as… especially if you got a data entry job, the most common type of job you can do from home.

One source of annoyance that you will inevitably face will be your children. You will find cleaning up after them very taxing, because you will have to do it the whole time. Before they had a nanny who cleaned up after them, but now that is your job. This is why, you should start teaching them to clean up after themselves from a very young age.

Imagine enjoying a delicious home-cooked meal, prepared by your kids! Of course, if they are older. If you do not want to spend an hour preparing lunch and dinner, because these are the most productive periods of your day, you should teach your children to cook. Simple meals, of course. They should consider it a privilege!

As you can see, having a perfect day as a work-at-home mom is perfectly achievable, no pun intended!

Using a slow and steady approach for your blogs success

Many bloggers nowadays appear to be in a hurry to attain success for their blogs. But there are a number of popular blogs which have gained success at a slow pace, posting just once or twice a week. In my opinion, slow and steady pace is the best for blogging because there are numerous examples of blogs that quickly rose to success and fizzled out fast. This might be due to the reason that bloggers are sometimes unable to fulfill the demands that come with high growth. Slow and steady growth is the healthiest form of growth; hence blogging at a slow pace is preferable. Roots that run deep with the passage of time keep a blogger grounded even in the midst of the winds of adversity.

Instead of forming an energetic posting routine, a blogger should take his time and focus on producing high quality, ever green posts. Such posts will serve to be beneficial for blog readers for a long period of time and might as well be reproduced for e-books. Another benefit of slow paced blogging is that it helps you build solid relationships based on encouragement and support, rather than competition. Slow paced blogging allows bloggers to boost each other by sending posts on each others blogs and by other creative way requiring minimal time.

Blogging at a slow pace allows you to manage your time and activities in the most efficient manner. Slowing down promotes a greater thoughtfulness. It allows you to produce better and high quality content. Moreover fast blogging demands a lot, which might exhaust you completely. Slow blogging demands less and produces excellent content, and provides an easier and surer way to success. It enables you to be persistent and regular, which in turn ensures steady growth. Blogging at a slow and steady pace lays greater stress on quality, rather than quantity.

What’s important is not posting at a fast rate and necessarily sending a large number of posts, but posting regularly at a constant pace. What counts more is consistency, even if you post just once or twice a week. But you must be regular in order to build your readership. Blogging at a slow pace allows you to be regular and persistent to a greater extent. Hence blogging at a slow and steady pace is a surer and better way to achieve success, popularity and readership for your blog, instead of rushing hurriedly.
